Associated Bodies and Organisations

The International Go Federation was granted full membership of the General Association of International Sports Federations on 7th April 2006 at the 40th General Assembly in Seoul, Korea, a step which should help IGF members in seeking membership of their respective NOC or national sports authority. Provisional membership had been gained on 20th May 2004.

Founder Member of IMSA

The International Go Federation was a founding member of the International Mind Sports Association, with Chess, Bridge and Draughts federations.

The IGF helps promote Go in countries where it has not been played before, or not been played on an organised level.

Several countries have had promotional visits but have yet to join the IGF.
