On 23rd January, top 32 of TianYuan Cup finishes in China Qi-yuan, Beijing. Chen Yaoye, Dang Yifei, Mi Yuting, Tang Weixing, Gu Li and Tuo Jia Xi 6 world champions are knocked out.
The second place winner of last TianYuan Cup, Chen Yaoye, meets post 00s Xie Ke in the first round. In this game, Xie Ke takes advantage in the mid game’s fight and holds it to the end. Finally Xie wins by 4.5 points. The only two-world champions’ battle happens between Tuo Jiaxi and Fan Tingyu. At the beginning, Fan Tingyu takes territory and then breaks into his opponent’s territory. After the exchange by a ko, Fan successfully makes his advantage and keeps it to the end.
The Top 16 of TianYuan Cup will be held on 25th January.
