The Samsung Cup is one of the most prestigious international professional competitions. After a several-year break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, a European player again got to come to South Korea and participate in this exciting event – the EGF nominated Andrii Kravets 1p, the current European Champion.

Round 1 of the 28th Samsung took place on the 16th of November. Andrii played Park Junghwan 9p, one of the strongest Korean professionals. Unfortunately, Andrii resigned after 180 moves and was eliminated from the tournament – the Samsung Cup is a knockout competition.
