Report from 2024 European Youth Go Championship in Hamburg
The European Youth Go Championship (EYGC) took place in Hamburg, Germany on 21–23 March alongside the European Professional Championship. Three days before the tournament, young players attended a training camp held by Yoon Youngsun 8p, Andrii Kravets 1p, and Lukas Podpera 7d.
Overall, the EYGC in Hamburg brought together almost 100 players: 8 in the U21 category, 52 in the U18, and 38 in the U12.
In the U21 category, three players topped the tournament table with one defeat after six rounds, so the fate of the championship was decided by the tie-breakers: the winner was Benoit Robichon 3d, followed by Arved Pittner 5d and Denis Dobranis 5d.
In the U18 category, Yuze Xing 5d remained undefeated and thus claimed the Championship. The runner-up was Stjepan Medak 3d, who lost only to the winner, and third came Jan Komin 2d.
In the U12 category, the winner was Bartik Dach 2d who won all of his games; second place went to Bende Barcza 2d and third came Ryan Zhang 3d.
