Three European players took part in the amateur edition of the 2025 SENKO Cup, also called World Go Women’s Championship. This tournament was held on 14 March in Tokyo and featured a knockout of eight participants:
- Rita Pocsai 5d (Hungary)
- Manja Marz 4d (Germany)
- Olesia Malko 4d (Ukraine)
- Amy Song 5d (Australia)
- Seowoo Wang 5d (USA)
- Dawn Sum 4d (Singapore)
- Paramita Sutheerat 4d (Thailand)
- Yan Ying Tan 3d (Malaysia)
The Champion was Rita Pocsai 5d, who remained undefeated and beat Dawn Sum 4d in the final. Below is a record of their game. This is the first time for a European to win this tournament. The winner of the amateur edition of the SENKO Cup qualifies for the next year’s professional edition.
